It is already over in New England.
I read an amazing article the other day on AFCENews.com. Tommy has 100 more wins than losses for the Patriots. Unbelievable. No one even in sight of catching him. He just has to stay above .500 now. No Problemo. Easily one of the best QBs ever. I would love to see a game where both he and Tanny play great just to see.
You realize they can only be meaningful if BOTH QBs win occasionally?
Enough about my sad Dolphins dreams. Ok, I lied. This is the article that will that I pray we can agree on, as a moment of recognition, well deserved, then we can all collectively go back to pulling our luxurious, imaginary beards, and figure out a way to beat the Pats.
Threw you, didn’t I?
For this fan, for as little as I may know, for as much NFL as I have watched, it is over in New England. They never have to win another game for me to be certain that they are the greatest football dynasty ever.
You heard me. Greatest NFL football dynasty in everness.
Yes, Peter Sellers was the funniest guy since Fields and The Cleveland Browns were the best/most dominant team ever. Brilliant innovative coach+, immortal Otto with gobs of titles, and the country’s best lacrosse player.
Name another dynasty QB/coach that has rebuilt itself back to the SB? Add in the modern era of FA for difficulty. Could their narrow defeats have been narrower?
Nah. 100 games over .500 is Mind-numbingly awesome, but it is an individual accomplishment. Guys like shiny things too. hint, hint. Even jewelry.
We could go on forever about how the double punch of success rained down from the highest level of ownership. We can snort at the loaded Browns staff, (There’s that team again.) BB the Impaler assembled there. His day with the ineffably grounded Jets. Chortle voluminously at “Even Dark Lord Belichick mirthfully gargling that he too, missed on Tom for 5 rounds. ” Laugh mightily at one of the greatest football drives ever to give a NE kicker, (coincidentally), another “Shot heard ’round the world.” Roar, with happiness as only a kid who grey up in NYC can, for a beloved Revolutionary war city as it unleashes titles in every other major sport.
NYC bay have been the first capital of the US, but, it is my wont (Cosell-ism), to say, we wouldn’t have a country, if it weren’t for the Patriots of NE. We fight as only brothers can. But a Chinese warship towards Boston harbor. There wont be a person left in New York State. Tap, tap, tap, “Where do you want us, brothers?”
Enjoy every second of it, I don’t think it has ever happened before. Not even to the 2 undefeated Chicago teams in the 30’s…well close. FA again.
This will make any Dolphins win the coolest beans. But, we are, already, as fans, witnesses to history.
Now back to my beard…
Sincerely, Football Fan.
Deep breaths. I still don’t know what a Mike LB is, a halfback from a tailback; the plays I know by name are, run to the right, run to the left, throw the ball at a guy, Kick it high in the air, and the venerable, kick it

Deep breaths. I still don’t know what a Mike LB is, a halfback from a tailback; the plays I know by name are, run to the right, run to the left, throw the ball at a guy, Kick it high in the air, and the venerable, kick it above the big H.
Tell me I’m wrong about this though…

PFF's Brad Spielberger explains why NFL teams should look past the 2021 NFL season after the first two rounds of the draft and breaks down which teams have specific future needs to address in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Trading away draft picks to move up and select a quarterback who won't start right away is not always a popular decision, but the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and the Washington Football team should at least consider it for a talent like Mac Jones or Justin Fields.
PFF’s comprehensive ranking of the top 75 (or so) rookies for 2021 fantasy football heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, including profiles of every player with a focus on predictive metrics and short- and long-term fantasy outlook.
It would cost a treasure trove of draft picks for the Chicago Bears to trade up in the 2021 NFL Draft and select Ohio State QB Justin Fields, but it would be worth every single one of those picks in the long run.
PFF's Timo Riske takes to the consensus big boards to see if they hold any predictive power over the NFL draft. The results are positive for the incoming offensive tackle and wide receiver class, two of the strongest position groups in the 2021 NFL Draft.
NFL draft season always comes with its share of outlandish takes, with this year's iteration notably questioning Trey Lance's NFL readiness, DeVonta Smith's size and Kyle Pitts' blocking ability. And like most hot takes, these are completely debunked by the PFF data.
An NFL memo to all teams, obtained by ESPN, states "any staffer that refuses to be vaccinated without either a religious or medical reason ... may not work directly or in close proximity with players."

Between lingering injuries, COVID-19 concerns and an uncertain season, several college football players opted out of the 2020 season. So, how will their decisions affect their NFL draft status? It's across the board.
An ESPN examination of the lawsuits filed against Watson and interviews with six others who massaged him reveal a complex portrait of a man and two groups of women -- one that says he is a menacing sexual predator, another that says he is misunderstood.
On Tuesday, lawyer Rusty Hardin said that one of the 22 civil lawsuits against Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been dismissed. Hardin didn’t say whether the case was dismissed without quid pro quo or whether it was settled. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the case was not settled. It’s still unknown why […]

Add another team to the list. The Broncos, Seahawks, and Buccaneers players made similar announcements on Tuesday. “With the voluntary workout period starting shortly and no acceptable […]
The NFL Players Association wants the rank and file to choose to not show up for offseason workouts. The NFL apparently wants to see them try. The league, we’re told, sees this as a potential win, a reminder that collective action for this specific unionized work force doesn’t work. The last time the NFLPA attempted […]
NFL Draft prospects were in Indianapolis last week for medical evaluations and the reigning Heisman Trophy winner reportedly got good news. It’s one thing for a hack like me to say it. It’s quite another for a former Packers player and incoming Pro Football Hall of Famer to say it. Appearing Monday with Zach Gelb of CBS Sports Radio, Charles Woodson acknowledged that things eventually could get “nasty” between quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. “I […]
Count free agent running back LeSean McCoy as one player who does not think Julian Edelman is heading to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Asked by Yahoo Sports if Edelman is a Hall of Famer, McCoy scoffed. “Hall of Famer? No, come on, man,” McCoy said. McCoy said Edelman’s strong postseason performances don’t change […]

The NFL Players Association wants players to chose not to attend voluntary offseason workouts. Whether and to what extent this strategy works will hinge in large part on the agents who represent NFL players. Agents have a duty to each player to represent his best interests. And agents won’t care nearly as much about the […]
The market for veteran tailbacks isn’t what it used to be. Then again, it’s never really been all that great.
