Early Season Outlook-New England Patriots

Free agency has nothing left but a few crumbs, the draft has been completed, and the teams are now trying out un-drafted players, in the hopes of finding a hidden gem. Soon there will be no news at all as summer will be upon us.

I want to take a realistic look at the upcoming season, although early for various reasons, this could be fun. It will be done without hate, regardless of my allegiance, I will be fair….at least to what I consider fair.

15 Sun, Dec 18 @ Denver
16 Sat, Dec 24 vs New York
17 Sun, Jan 1 @ Miami

The division: The Patriot annually own this division, this year I think the trend continues, but it will show that the other three are closing the gap, even if ever so slowly. The Patriots will be 4-2.

The NFCW: week one in Arizona is as good a loss as you can predict week one, with or without Tom Brady. The other road game is in San Francisco, where the 49ers and Chip Kelly’s mediocre roster will get crushed. Home games to the Seahawks and Rams will be wins. 3-1

The AFCN: On the road the Patriots visit Pittsburgh and Cleveland, beating the Steelers will not be easy this season, as they should win the AFCN. They will kill the Browns. At home they face the Ravens and Bengals, two more wins. 3-1

The Rest: A home game with Houston will result in a win, even without Tom. A road game in Denver will be a repeat of the playoffs, and a loss. 1-1.

The Season: Patriots will win the division with an 11-5 record, but not gain a first round bye. The suspension of Tom Brady will not have any effect on the first 4-5 games, as I expect them to be 4-1 regardless.
