With all four AFC North teams preparing for the offseason, let’s take a look at where pundits have determined, with authority and accuracy, the direction our teams will take in the first round.
What does your team need to address most urgently in the draft or free agency?
12. Cleveland Browns: Kevin White, WR, West Virginia
The Browns almost have to draft a receiver with one of their many early picks, don’t they? Having Miles Austin start for a second year just can’t happen, and now it’s sounding like Josh Gordon won’t be back with the team next season.
19. Cleveland Browns: Danny Shelton, NT, Washington
The Browns were atrocious against the run to close out the season. Part of the reason for that was incompetent play from the defensive line. It didn’t help that Phil Taylor, who struggled early, missed the second half of the year with a knee injury. He has literally been a huge disappointment. The same goes for Ahtyba Rubin.
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Alvin Dupree, DE/OLB, Kentucky
The Bengals’ pass rush has been inconsistent this year, as the team has missed Michael Johnson’s presence. Perhaps they’ll spend their first-round pick on a pass-rusher.
22. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
Cortez Allen was so bad against the Colts that he was actually trending on Twitter. Ike Taylor, meanwhile, was miserable in his return from injury. The Steelers are in desperate need of help at the cornerback position, and they’re getting a prospect who fits their scheme well.
26. Baltimore Ravens: Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State
It’s amazing that the Ravens have been able to maintain such a strong defense despite losing some future Hall of Famers. Their front seven is great, but their secondary is in shambles right now. They really need help at corner.
