It is already over in New England.
I read an amazing article the other day on AFCENews.com. Tommy has 100 more wins than losses for the Patriots. Unbelievable. No one even in sight of catching him. He just has to stay above .500 now. No Problemo. Easily one of the best QBs ever. I would love to see a game where both he and Tanny play great just to see.
You realize they can only be meaningful if BOTH QBs win occasionally?
Enough about my sad Dolphins dreams. Ok, I lied. This is the article that will that I pray we can agree on, as a moment of recognition, well deserved, then we can all collectively go back to pulling our luxurious, imaginary beards, and figure out a way to beat the Pats.
Threw you, didn’t I?
For this fan, for as little as I may know, for as much NFL as I have watched, it is over in New England. They never have to win another game for me to be certain that they are the greatest football dynasty ever.
You heard me. Greatest NFL football dynasty in everness.
Yes, Peter Sellers was the funniest guy since Fields and The Cleveland Browns were the best/most dominant team ever. Brilliant innovative coach+, immortal Otto with gobs of titles, and the country’s best lacrosse player.
Name another dynasty QB/coach that has rebuilt itself back to the SB? Add in the modern era of FA for difficulty. Could their narrow defeats have been narrower?
Nah. 100 games over .500 is Mind-numbingly awesome, but it is an individual accomplishment. Guys like shiny things too. hint, hint. Even jewelry.
We could go on forever about how the double punch of success rained down from the highest level of ownership. We can snort at the loaded Browns staff, (There’s that team again.) BB the Impaler assembled there. His day with the ineffably grounded Jets. Chortle voluminously at “Even Dark Lord Belichick mirthfully gargling that he too, missed on Tom for 5 rounds. ” Laugh mightily at one of the greatest football drives ever to give a NE kicker, (coincidentally), another “Shot heard ’round the world.” Roar, with happiness as only a kid who grey up in NYC can, for a beloved Revolutionary war city as it unleashes titles in every other major sport.
NYC bay have been the first capital of the US, but, it is my wont (Cosell-ism), to say, we wouldn’t have a country, if it weren’t for the Patriots of NE. We fight as only brothers can. But a Chinese warship towards Boston harbor. There wont be a person left in New York State. Tap, tap, tap, “Where do you want us, brothers?”
Enjoy every second of it, I don’t think it has ever happened before. Not even to the 2 undefeated Chicago teams in the 30’s…well close. FA again.
This will make any Dolphins win the coolest beans. But, we are, already, as fans, witnesses to history.
Now back to my beard…
Sincerely, Football Fan.
Deep breaths. I still don’t know what a Mike LB is, a halfback from a tailback; the plays I know by name are, run to the right, run to the left, throw the ball at a guy, Kick it high in the air, and the venerable, kick it

Deep breaths. I still don’t know what a Mike LB is, a halfback from a tailback; the plays I know by name are, run to the right, run to the left, throw the ball at a guy, Kick it high in the air, and the venerable, kick it above the big H.
Tell me I’m wrong about this though…

Streaming players in fantasy football is a great way to play certain matchups and gain the upper hand against teams whose players are in slumps. Here are the best quarterbacks, tight ends and defense to look for ahead of Week 4.
Dak Prescott led the Dallas Cowboys to a 41-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. PFF's Nathan Jahnke offers snap counts, immediate fantasy football takeaways and more following the lopsided Cowboys victory.
PFF’s NFL Team of the Week and player awards from Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson leads the way at quarterback, while Offensive Line of the Week honors go to the Los Angeles Rams.
Cornerback C.J. Henderson had been the subject of trade rumors during the summer, and the Jacksonville Jaguars ultimately opted to deal him and a fifth-round pick for tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round pick.
Matt Nagy said on Monday that all three Chicago quarterbacks -- Justin Fields, Andy Dalton and Nick Foles -- are under consideration to start on Sunday versus the Lions after Week 3's disastrous 26-6 loss to the Browns.
In a SiriusXM podcast, Tom Brady touched on a variety of topics ahead of his return to New England, including his relationship with Bill Belichick, his thoughts on how fans may greet him and some comments his father made last week about his Patriots exit.
Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury had never seen an official's flag hit a punt in midair until Sunday in Jacksonville. Had the play turned out differently, however, Kingsbury would've wanted that official to be immediately reprimanded.
Baltimore has made a move to solidify its depth at linebacker. The Ravens announced on Tuesday that they’ve signed Josh Bynes to the 53-man roster off their own practice squad. In his 11th season, Bynes appeared in the Week Three win over Detroit and played 14 defensive snaps. He recorded four total tackles. Bynes started […]
The Eagles updated the status of a couple of players who were injured in Monday night’s loss to the Cowboys and the news isn’t good in either case. Left guard Isaac Seumalo will miss the rest of the season after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his foot. Seumalo was carted off in the fourth quarter […]
The pandemic dramatically altered the 2020 college football season. It has prompted the NFL and the NFL Players Association to after the rules for the 2020 draft. An agreement struck recently by the league and the union treats the 2020 season as a year of participation. In other words, even if a player did or […]
Chiefs coach Andy Reid is back in the office today. Reid returned to work today after a health scare that saw him go directly from the game to the hospital on Sunday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The 63-year-old Reid fell ill after Sunday’s loss to the Chargers and was taken from the […]
After a longer wait than expected, Haloti Ngata is being inducted into the Ravens’ Ring of Honor next month. Baltimore announced on Tuesday that Ngata will be honored at halftime of the team’s Week Five matchup with Indianapolis on Monday Night Football. Ngata was supposed to be inducted into the Ring of Honor last year, […]
Running back Marlon Mack was scratched by the Colts on Sunday and he may be off their roster entirely in the near future. According to multiple reports, the Colts are working to trade Mack. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that nothing is imminent and that the desire for a trade also exists on Mack’s […]
Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd‘s comments about the Steelers’ effort level late in Sunday’s game made their way to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin’s press conference on Tuesday. Boyd said on Monday that the Steelers gave up as the clock ran out on a 24-10 Bengals victory and the first question after Tomlin’s introductory comments […]
Seattle’s defense opened the season with a good showing against the Colts, but they have not been as effective the last two weeks as they were in Week One. The Titans scored 24 points after halftime of their Week Two overtime win and the Vikings scored six of the first seven times they had the […]
1. Rams (3-0, Last week No. 2): Based on Sean McVay’s reaction to taking the lead at halftime on Sunday, a Super Bowl win might cause him to spontaneously combust. 2. Buccaneers (2-1, No. 1): As they proved last year, there’s nothing like a regular-season loss (or two) to set the stage for a postseason […]
Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will return to New England on Sunday night and achieve an impressive accomplishment: He’ll break the all-time NFL record for career passing yards. Brady currently has 80,291 passing yards in his career, meaning he needs just 68 yards to break the all-time record of 80,358 yards, held by Drew Brees. How […]
The Buccaneers are reportedly bringing in Richard Sherman for a visit with injury issues at cornerback. But one of their players should not be out for too long. According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, Jamel Dean doesn’t appear to have a serious knee injury. But he is unlikely to play against the Patriots on Sunday […]
The Texans designated a pair of players for return from injured reserve on Monday. Kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn and defensive back A.J. Moore have started the process of returning to active duty. Fairbairn pulled a muscle in his leg while warming up for the team’s final preseason game and Moore had a hamstring injury. Joey Slye […]
Tom Brady, if you haven’t heard, makes his return to New England on Sunday. He addressed the reception he expects to receive at his looming return on the latest episode of the Let’s Go! podcast. “I wouldn’t expect a homecoming,” Brady said. “I think they’re there to root for their team, and their team is […]
Rams running back Darrell Henderson wasn’t able to go against the Buccaneers because of a rib injury, but the team isn’t ruling him out for their Week Four home date with the Cardinals. Head coach Sean McVay said, via the team’s website, on Monday that Henderson has been “making good progress” in recent days and […]
Given the long history of the NFL, it’s hard to have a play with little precedent. But that happened on Sunday during the Dolphins’ loss to the Raiders. Miami was backed up to its own 1-yard line at the end of the first quarter when quarterback Jacoby Brissett elected to throw behind the line of […]
Richard Sherman has been looking for a place to play for some time and he will be headed to Tampa as part of that search. NFL Media reports that Sherman will be visiting with the Buccaneers. It won’t be the first conversation between Sherman and the team. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians confirmed last week […]
Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson is an unlikely candidate to lead the NFL in interceptions, but that’s where he was after Sunday’s win over the Steelers, when Wilson picked Ben Roethlisberger twice. Wilson has three interceptions this season (tops in the NFL, a mark that Dallas’s Trevon Diggs tied on Monday night), and he said Sunday […]
Cornerback Trevon Diggs kept a streak alive by intercepting a pass for the third straight game on Monday night and he was able to return his third-quarter pick of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts for a touchdown that helped break the game open for the Cowboys. After the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said, via Michael […]
The Manning brothers are working blue, and in so doing paying homage to the man who owned the Luv Ya Blue Houston Oilers. On Monday night, Eli was explaining the reception that his Giants got in Philadelphia (as demonstrated in the attached photo). To make his point, Eli fired off the double-barreled middle fingers for […]
The Panthers traded for cornerback CJ Henderson on Monday, acquiring the No. 9 overall pick of the 2020 draft in part to help replace this year’s No. 8 overall pick Jaycee Horn. Horn will be out for months, if not the rest of the season, after breaking a few bones in his foot in last […]
