The Josh Allen Report

The Josh Allen Report
class="post-date-wrap left relative post-date-mob">

After a two week hiatus, we’re back on track with the Josh Allen Report. And we have some good news for a change.

The Good: Josh Allen hit the deep ball twice in the last two weeks! And both were touchdowns to John Brown, who has proven to be possibly the best free agency signing of the year. Over the last two weeks, Allen has racked up five TDs to one INT while completing over 61% of his passes and rushing for another TD. He was electric on the ground this Sunday with a few huge first down conversions, including one where he avoided several defenders in the backfield before scampering down the sideline for a huge gain that got us out of a deep hole in our own end of the field. In the air, he has been respectable, with a few pretty incredible throws and a few that were just off the mark. That toss to Beasley in the second quarter was one of the best throws I’ve ever seen him make.

The Bad: Well, there wasn’t a whole lost to complain about the last to weeks. Allen had a stretch of 172 passes with no INTs that ended yesterday when he lofted a throw about 5 yards above his receiver’s head and right to a defender. Brown was open enough to make that throw, he just plain let it go too high. Aside from that, ball security on scrambles remains an issue that hasn’t really hurt us yet. Yet.

The Ugly: Nothing too ugly to complain about the last two weeks either. I could go on for hours about that Cleveland game, but I am tired and I don’t want to get into it again. Suffice it to say that Daboll cost us that game and moving him to the booth might just have saved his job for next year.
On an Unrelated Note:
Has the defense found itself again? Back to back good performances on the ground? Crazy talk.

Frank Gore hit #3 on the all time rushing list. He’s a marvel.

Singletary is perhaps the most exciting young player we’ve drafted in a while. He’s not that lightning fast threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball, but he just doesn’t quit. He should be on Angry Runs this week!
