Branden Albert signing with the Dolphins
Last year, the Dolphins nearly traded for Chiefs tackle Branden Albert. This year, they need only to make a deal with Albert himself. Per a league source, all signs currently point to Albert signing with the Dolphins not long after the market officially opens on Tuesday.
Don’t hold your breath for Aqib Talib
Talib was undeniably the best corner in football for the first six games of the season, before a hip injury took him out against the Saint. After that, he was sub-mediocre and clearly not the same player. He looked like 2012 Talib- a solid, if not unspectacular player who allows the Patriots to change their defensive style. The Jets release Cromartie
The Jets released Antonio Cromartie, their top cornerback, on Sunday in a move designed to save millions under the salary cap. Cromartie, who was entering the final season of a four-year deal, would have cost the Jets $14.98 million against the cap, including a $5 million bonus that would have kicked in this month. Cromartie’s release, which was expected, created about $9.5 million in cap space for the Jets.
