Spikes, Dixon newest additions in Buffalo

Dixon gives the Bills added depth at running back and experience on special teams. Dixon ran for 458 yards and eight touchdowns in four years behind Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter with the San Francisco 49ers. He’s joining another talented backfield in Buffalo, which finished second overall in rushing one year ago and features veterans Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller.

Armando Salguero’s silly article on Dolphins

The Dolphins tried again to get Zach Strief of the New Orleans Saints to visit, he declined, and the nugget was picked up by ProFootballTalk.com. The Dolphins apparently freaked that they were being thought of as rejected and complained to Strief’s representation.

The team that has suffered its share of notable rejections — Jim Harbaugh, Peyton Manning, Jeff Fisher, Nick Caserio, Ray Farmer, Tom Gamble, and Lake Dawson — is sensitive to the idea that it is being rejected on any front by anybody but this is just silly

Pats sign wideout Brandon LaFell

LaFell (fifth season) joins Julian Edelman (sixth) andDanny Amendola (sixth) as the most experienced receivers on the depth chart. That experience is balanced by the youth and potential of second-year pass-catchers Aaron Dobson (second round), Josh Boyce (fourth round) and Kenbrell Thompkins (undrafted). For those eyeing a consistent downfield presence outside the numbers, Dobson and his development still looks like the key. His offseason has been altered after he underwent surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot.

JETS and GIANTS check out
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is not a Jet. Today he’ll see if he’s going to be a Giant.

The free agent cornerback wrapped up his visit with the Jets Saturday without signing a contract and will spend Sunday just up the Jersey Turnpike a bit visiting with the Giants. Rodgers-Cromartie is considered the top cornerback still available on the free agency market and both New York teams have expressed an interest in upgrading at the position.
