Sideline Report Mock Draft – Steelers / Cowboys Edition

Justin Gilbert is headed to St. Louis and Darqueze Dennard has been voted to Chicago with our latest picks.  Here they are:

Houston – Jadeveon Clowney

St. Louis – Sammy Watkins

Jacksonville – Khalil Mack

Cleveland – Johnny Manziel

Oakland – Blake Bortles

Atlanta – Jake Matthews

Tampa Bay – Mike Evans

Minnesota – Teddy Bridgewater

Buffalo – Greg Robinson

Detroit – Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

Tennessee – C.J. Mosley

N.Y. Giants – Taylor Lewan

St. Louis – Justin Gilbert

Chicago – Darqueze Dennard

Our beloved Steelers are now on the clock.  The team is in desperate need of some goods picks on the defensive side of the ball during this draft.  Although some of the fan favorites are gone (Gilbert and Dennard), there are still plenty of solid options for Pittsburgh left at this point.  It seems to be a foregone conclusion that the team will take a defensive player, but there is a slight possibility they could go offensive line or wide receiver depending on who is available.

Dallas lost one of its all-time greats this offseason by releasing Demarcus Ware due to salary cap issues.  Dallas’s inability to successfully manage their salary cap has left them in a challenging spot to be a competitive team again.  The Cowboys added QB Brandon Weeden, DE Jeremy Mincey, and DT Henry Melton, but much is left to be desired on their roster.  Any position on defense should be the pick for the Cowboys, but then again Jerry Jones could make us all look dumb and draft a kicker.
